EcoSense is a start-up in the field of environmental solutions and sustainability. Our vision is to build a better and sustainable world for our future generations by tackling issues related to climate change. Our objective is to be able to reduce waste going to landfill and increase recycling rates. Globally, over 2 Bn tonnes of solid waste is generated annually. Plastics in ocean is one of the bigger challenges that the world has been grappling with. Pyrolysis based treatment of plastic waste is an upcoming technology in the field of waste management and one which is projected for an exponential growth world over. Current challenge being faced is to have segregated plastic as an input material. However, when one considers the Municipal Solid Waste (MSW), the waste is co-mingled and most of it is contaminated making recycling or processing very difficult. The technology that we are bringing to the fore with our technical partner is where we process co-mingled MSW to pyrolysis oil, gas and carbon black. There is no residue and extremely low emissions. In pursuit of our goal to be able to bring more waste technologies to the fore, we have secured a project for setting up a plant and would like to explore with like minded investors on the opportunity. Project summary: Project involves setting up a municipal solid waste processing to oil (biofuel) project. This is a 15 years project and 6 acres of land will be allocated (at no additional cost) for setting up the plant and office. The site generates 10MT of MSW and they are allowing 20MT of plastic to be brought from outside the gated facility (to make it commercially viable). The required investment is ~6Mn USD for the project. Based on the ground study and the plant potential, we are targeting a conservative payback of 5-6 years. Since we have more projects coming up in the pipeline, there is a potential for long term association.
